Respite
Respite is provided by a trained staff to watch your child and take care of them in a safe and structured environment, allowing the caregiver to attend to other areas and responsibilities. The respite staff will create incidental learning opportunities based of the goals you have for your child. This service can be beneficial for both the child and the caregiver, as it allows the child to continue receiving therapy while the caregiver takes some time to recharge.
Activities our team engages learners in during respite care could include:
Practice self-care tasks, like practicing relaxation techniques and developing healthy habits.
Work on important life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and managing money.
Play skills such as turn-taking, sharing, and imaginative play.
Motor skills such as handwriting, cutting, and drawing.
Gross motor skills such as running, jumping, and climbing.
